Barcelona’s countryside offers plenty of scope for hire car touring.  The nearby town of Figueres boasts some interesting attractions including the absorbing Salvador Dalí Museum.  The seaside village of Sitges makes for another pleasant drive and offers plenty of scope for active outdoor pursuits such as swimming and sailing. 

Barcelona plays host to a number of exciting festivals throughout the calendar year.  In winter, make sure to check out Fira de Santa Llúcia Christmas Festival which takes place between December 2nd and December 23rd.  Vibrant summer Festivals include Corpus in May, Revetlla de Sant Joan in June and Festes de Grácia in August.
