Out of the myriad of top-notch attractions that make Dubai such an alluring and riveting tourist destination, there are a few that stand out in particular. Dhow racing is a higely popular sport in Dubai. The races involve Dhow boats (these are traditional wooden trading vessels) competing in the crystal waters off the coast of Mina Seyahi in particular. These competitions are held regularly, most notably on national and government holidays, all through the winter and well into the summer. The races are fantastic events to witness, and it is well worth doing some homework to find out if there will be a race held during your Dubai holiday, and if so where it will be held. Thursday and Friday afternoons are generally the time, and as already stated, Mina Seyahi tends to be the place. Horse racing is a similary popular sport in Dubai, with camel races also held throughout the city. Golfers will love some of the luxurious and meticulously kept courses that can be found in Dubai.

The buildings in Dubai are, for the most part, spectacular. The Grand Mosque is perhaps the most magnificent of all, as well as the Seikh Saeed Al Maktoum Museum, the Jumeirah Mosque, and who could forget Dubai’s answer to the Empire State Building/Eifell Tour – the astounding Burj Al Arab hotel.
