Lying on a natural harbour, Lorient is Brittany’s fourth largest city thjat is situated close to the junction of the rivers Scorff, Ter and Blavet.  Lorient isn’t short on things to see and do.  Worthwhile attractions include Musée de la Compagnie des Indes and Ile de Groix.  The 8km steep-sided rock is renowned for being a smaller version of the famous Belle-Ile and offers stunning beaches that are ideal for day-trippers.  Staying closer to home, a trip to the pretty Port de Peche at Keroman is also recommended.  Tourism is big business in Lorient, especially in and around the yacting marinas of the bay.
