The capital city, Bucharest was once known as the ‘Paris of the East’ due to its abundance of cultural attractions and sophisticated ambience. Today the city is a fascinating mish mash of classical architecture, sprawling grey Communist buildings and leafy avenues and is slowly recovering its reputation as an elegant metropolis.
