The main gateway into North Cyprus is Ercan airport.  The easiest way to reach Kyrenia from Ercan airport is to take the first roundabout outside of the airport.  Continue on for around 5 minutes until you reach Nicosia/Famagusta station.  Take a left turn here towards Nicosia.

After a few minutes, you will reach the first large roundabout with a sign directing you right, towards Kyrenia (in Turkish,  this is listed as Girne).  Resist taking that right turn.  Instead, drive straight towards Nicosia (in Turkish  this is listed as Lefkosa).

After a 15 minute drive, you will reach a very large roundabout.  Ahead of this roundabout, you will encounter a football stadium to your right and an Opel showroom on your left.  Turn right at the large roundabout in the direction of th mountains and continue on along that road fro around 10 to 15 minutes until you reach Kyrenia. 

North Cyprus provides a feast for the senses that includes beautiful beaches and myriad coves.  Summer in North Cyprus extends from May to October, meaning hot temperatures, with clear blue skies and pleasant sea breezes.  During the peak summer months, temperatures can soar to 33 degrees.  Inland however, temperatures can be cool and refreshing, especially in mountainous areas, making these regions the ideal place to make the most of the outdoors.
