Edinburgh Festival
Thought you’d missed out on the fun and frolics of Edinburgh in August? No worries, organisers of this year’s Edinburgh International Festival have laid on two extra days, with this year’s events due to wrap up on September 2nd. Performances to watch out for in 2007 include Hollywood actor Alan Cumming in The Bacchae and Simon Russell Beale treading the boards in Oedipus Rex.

Those attending the finale night are in for an extra special treat. The Scottish Chamber Orchestra has lined up recitals of Gershwin, Barber, Ives and Bernstein, alongside a lavish fireworks display at Princes Street Gardens. Meanwhile, the festival’s cheeky sidekick, The Edinburgh Fringe has been rolling out one of its biggest successes to date, showcasing 2,050 acts at 250 venues across the city.
