With crowds dispersed and a pleasant dip in temperatures, September is the perfect month to visit Dubrovnik and its neighbouring beauty spots.

One of Dubrovnik’s prettiest day trips is Peljesac, a sweeping 70km long peninsula located just an hour and a half from Dubrovnik. The Peljesac Channel slices the peninsula from the island of Korcula, scattering a cluster of charming little villages and hamlets across the foothills of the Dolomites. Spend some time wandering the pine and cypress groves or explore the derelict villas and wild gardens. From here, the old seafaring town of Orebic is only a few minutes’ drive away and a great place to stop for lunch and shopping. If you’re feeling adventurous, venture further to Viganj, the home of windsurfing in Croatia. Look out for the islands of Korcula and Mljet across the channel.

Argus Issues Availability Warning

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Dublin, Ireland, June 23rd 2010:

Leading European car rental site, ArgusCarHire.com is issuing its customers with an advisory warning regarding low availability in popular holiday destinations this summer.

According to ArgusCarHire.com, it is Spanish resorts that are coming under particular pressure, with fleets in Ibiza, Menorca, Mallorca, Alicante, Malaga and Murcia selling out fast.

Spain’s low availability problems arise from fleet cuts introduced by major car rental agencies after last year’s worldwide downturn in the car manufacturing industry. Throughout 2009, banks were reluctant to finance fleets and garages that lease vehicles didn’t want to risk buying back vehicles that they were unable to sell on. This trend has continued into 2010 meaning car hire companies simply do not have as many cars for rental as in previous years.

Commenting on the email campaign, ArgusCarHire.com’s Brand Manager Barry Malone said:

“We wouldn’t like to see our customers disappointed so to avoid a repeat of last summer’s severe vehicle shortages, we’re issuing all of our clients with an email warning them about the current low availability situation. We have some great value deals on offer at the moment but these are subject to availability – customers will have to move quickly if they want to get the cheapest rates for June, July and August.”

To secure their car rental early, customers should visit arguscarhire.com or call 0844 330 2581
