Essential Driving Equipment in UK

London£12

Children under three must use a child restraint appropriate for their weight in any vehicle, including vans and other goods vehicles. Rear-facing baby seats should not be used in a seat protected by a frontal airbag unless the airbag has been deactivated manually or automatically. In vehicles fitted with seatbelts, children 3 to 12 years and under 135cms in height (4 ft 5 ins) must use the appropriate child restraint. These children may travel in the rear and use an adult belt if they are travelling for a short distance in an unexpected necessity and when two occupied child seats in the rear prevent the fitting of a third.

An international Driving Permit IDP serves as an official translation of the holder's driver's license into 10 foreign languages. The purpose of an IDP is to supplement, not replace your valid government issued license. It serves as a translation of a driver's license and helps authorities to understand your license. However it does not provide driving privileges by itself. We suggest, especially if your foreign license is not in English that you contact the automobile association or driving authorities in your home country to get an international driving permit before travelling, as the United States does not issue international driver's permits to foreign drivers.
