Important things to note

While paid parking can be found very close to the hotspots in the city centre and coast, free parking can often be found just a few blocks away, making walking to the actual activity a worthwhile thing to consider.
The rush hours of the city usually take place 7am-8.30am and 3.30pm-5pm; however, the congestion of the city is much lighter than in the surrounding areas meaning no time of day need really be avoided.
The roads of Gold Coast are in excellent condition meaning driving in the area can be a true joy.

Highlights & Hotspots

With over 30 beaches along the coast line, no sun worshipper can miss the chance to enjoy the incomparable areas of sun, sand and sea. Surfers will also find these waters perfect for practising the exciting sport.
Hinterland is known as the “green behind the gold” as it is home to numerous national parks, mountains and waterfalls. Take a trip to observe the nature and even go rock climbing along the mountainous ranges.
Those seeking some adventure will love the numerous water parks such as Wet ‘n’ Wild, which hosts swimming pools, slides and rides for all ages. WhiteWater World also offers much of the same but with a white water twist!
If visitors are seeking a more traditional time, the Australian Outback Spectacular is a fantastic day trip that offers visitors the chance to ride horses and experience the outback way of life.

Airport Information

A small terminal, the Gold Coast Airport may be a smaller airport but hosts around 3.5 million visitors per year. It is important to note that the airport closes at night, so those travelling early in the morning will not be able to spend the evening there. However, the airport is only a 30 minute drive from the city centre, making it very easily accessible.
