Known as one of the most popular resorts on the Black Sea Coast in Bulgaria, Sunny Beach is a magnet for millions of visitors. It was built entirely with tourism in mind, making the most of its location on the Black Sea, providing a viable, family-friendly alternative to places further along the coast such as Burgas. Sunny Beach has more than 800 hotels and over 300,000 separate beds to accommodate visitors who flock here during the summer months. Aside from the beach, there are numerous bars and clubs on-site where visitors can party until the small hours, especially young couples. It tends to be fully open from May to September, winding down during the autumn and winter months.
Due to the short driving distances in the resort, a small car is all you will need for getting around Sunny Beach, as well as on the nearby motorway going south to Burgas.

While at the beach, you could always go scuba diving. There are several shops in Sunny Beach where you can pick up the right equipment to go diving, while there are lessons available from qualified instructors if you’re a novice.
Away from the resort, it might be worth taking a trip to Old Nesebar, a village just a couple of miles south of Sunny Beach. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is home to various archaeological sites as well as several old churches. Shops and restaurants are here too.
Shoppers are well-catered for here. They can visit the Royal Beach Mall, which has over 100 shops, many of which sell clothes. Alternatively, there is the Beach Boulevard, where hundreds more shops, stalls and bars exist.

The airport is conveniently located just north of the I-9 motorway, which goes straight north towards Sunny Beach via Pomorie and Nessebar.
