Important things to note

The standard of driving in Sharm el-Sheikh is poor and traffic tends to be heavy, busy and chaotic most of the time. It’s advisable to drive defensively.
It’s advisable to plan your journey beforehand and take a map with you as routes can be tricky to navigate.
Local drivers are known to honk their horns at each other frequently, usually just as a way to greet each other.
It’s strongly advised to avoid driving at night as roads tend to be hazardous and poorly lit. Livestock can wander onto the roads and locals are known to drive without using headlights.

Airport Information

Sinai’s largest airport is Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport, which is the third-busiest airport in Egypt. The airport has two terminals for passengers, each dedicated to international and domestic flights.
The airport is located just over seven miles northeast of the city centre, which is roughly a 15-minute drive away via the El-Salam road.
