Car Hire Chios

Situated in the Aegean Sea, Chios is one of the larger Greek islands and is located five miles off the coast of Turkey. As one of the lesser visited Greek islands, Chios is largely unspoilt by tourism. This large island has a long and fascinating history and boasts a rich cultural centre. Yet, the island still has everything for a relaxing holiday and is home to miles and miles of long, sandy beaches. Chios town is home to numerous bars and restaurants but you’ll find cultural treasures throughout the island. With its mixed terrain, the island has an array of opportunities for outdoorsy types to get their fix of adrenaline, ranging from many different hiking trails to snorkelling and water sports near the coast.

While fuel is readily available throughout the island, most fuelling stations are closed on Sundays, so it’s advisable to make sure you have a full tank for the weekend.

Highlights & Hotspots

Nea Moni Monastery is one of the island’s most popular historic sites to visit. Now a World Heritage site, this impressive monastery dates back to the 11th-century.
