Shannon airport serves the popular destinations of Galway and Limerick in the south west of Ireland.  It is one of only two European airports to provide US Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance for passengers heading to the United States.  The other airport is Dublin Airport. Shannon Airport offers a good range of facilities for passengers including a bureaux de change and full banking facilities including ATMs. A self-service restaurant is located in the check-in area and the bar in the departures lounge is open 24 hours a day serving food.  A café/snack bar is situated in the arrivals area. There are telephones and free wifi access throughout Shannon Airport.  There is also a post box. Shopping facilities include a gift shop, food shop, newsagents and a bookshop between check-in and the arrivals hall.  Duty-free shopping is available in the departures lounge, beside gift shops selling Irish souvenirs and produce. Business travellers are well catered for and the Rineanna Suite is situated beside gate 7.  Airlines and groups may request executive lounge facilities for corporate events, press launches and business meetings. There are around 5000 car parking spaces at Shannon Airport.  Short-term parking is possible in front of the terminal building and there are a number of long-term car parks located within a three-minute walk from the airport terminal.

Driving to Shannon Airport

If driving from Limerick, Shannon Airport can be accessed from the north on the N18 by following the signs for Ennis and from Galway on the southbound N18. At Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, take the junction for Shannon Airport and keep left on the N19.
