Important things to note

Seatbelts are compulsory in both the front and rear seats of the vehicle.
Locals have been known to drive fast along the narrow and windy roads, so it’s advisable to drive cautiously and keep your distance.
Road conditions may be poor in some parts of Olbia with many roads being potholed and poorly maintained.
Parking is generally on the right hand side. To park in a blue zone you will need a disc to display. These can be purchased at service stations.

For a taste of culture, visit the Museo Archeologico. Admire the architecture of this building, designed by Vanni Macciocco. Inside, you’ll discover the fascinating local history through a series of exhibits.
There are a significant number of gorgeous white sandy beaches all along the Costa Smeralda perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun, taking the opportunity to go surfing or diving and discovering the sea life.
One of the best places to eat in Olbia is Trattoria da Leo e Lina. Aside from being cheap, it serves plenty of dishes local to Sardinia, especially the northern part of the island. Other restaurants in the town have rustic yet authentic dining experiences on offer if you’re feeling adventurous.

Airport Information

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is located approximately seven miles from Olbia town centre and is accessible via the Carlo Felice SS131 road or SS125.
Despite its relatively small size, the airport takes in close to two million passengers a year. This can often lead to queues, especially when going out of the airport from the car park.
