The Dodecanese island of Kos is second only to Rhodes in terms of its popularity. Despite its mass appeal, pockets of quiet can be found along its coastline and lush landscapes. Those who rent a car in Kos will find plenty to enjoy on the island including secluded beaches and picturesque villages.
Local and independent car rental companies are represented at Kos airport.
In Kos, cars drive on the right-hand side of the road. If you are not used to driving on this side of the road, it is worth taking your car for a drive around the car park of your rental car provider. Remember, the steering wheel will be on the left-hand side of the car and the gear-stick and handbrake will be on the right.
Once you arrive at Kos airport, ensure that you have all essential documents including your rental car agreement, your driver’s licence, your credit card and any other forms of identification requested by your car rental provider.
Kos Airport is situated around 26km to the southwest of Kos Town.
The airport is quite small but offers a good range of facilities including a duty free shop and kiosks selling last minute essentials. A café offers drinks and snacks and there are also VIP lounges should you require their facilities.
If driving to Kos International airport from Kos Town, follow the main road heading west and then follow signs for Antimachia and the airport.
