Important things to note
It can be difficult to navigate through Albufeira’s maze of streets as there are very few street signs. It’s recommended to plan your journey beforehand and invest in a good map.
Some motorways surrounding the city are toll roads. When driving on motorways, avoid using the green lanes as these are for drivers using the automated payment systems at toll booths.
If a local driver flashes their lights at you, this is an indication that they want you to give way. This takes place on most roads in the area.
