With a population just short of 100, 000, Redditch is a sizeable town in Worcestershire, UK, just 15 miles south of the country’s second largest city, Birmingham. The town is not generally renowned as a tourist destination, however that’s not to say that it doesn’t have plenty to offer. From cultural attractions like museums and historical sites to its many leisure destinations, visitors are guaranteed to find something to keep them entertained no matter what their taste or budget.
Redditch’s climate is typically British. Summers are generally warm with a fair amount of sunshine, while the temperatures during the winter months are considerably colder. Rainfall is to be expected all year round, so an umbrella is likely to become your closest companion when visiting Redditch!

At one time, Redditch produced the vast majority of the country’s needles and the Forge Mill Needle Museum is therefore a significant point of interest in the town. The museum gives visitors a fascinating insight into the town’s needle-manufacturing past, while selling some of the country’ highest quality needles and souvenirs in the on-site gift shop.
If you’re a golf enthusiast, Redditch makes for the ideal destination. With two 18-hole courses, one at the town’s local club, the other at the luxurious Abbey Hotel, golfers can expect to be both challenged and impressed by these well-maintained facilities. The clubhouse is worth spending an hour or two in after the end of your round.
For those who enjoy spending time outdoor away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, the Arrow Valley Country Park will most certainly suit. With a large lake and several wooded areas, the park makes for the ideal place to head for leisurely stroll, a picnic or even a sport of fishing. There’s also a number of play areas to cater of families with young children.

A confusing road system is another feature for which Redditch is often noted due to its network of dual carriageways
The UK’s only cloverleaf interchange is also to be found in Redditch, a system which enables high volumes of traffic to flow with greater ease.

Airport Information

Birmingham International Airport is Redditch’s nearest airport, located approximately 20 miles south of the town centre. Flights to various European destinations are readily available, along with those going to countries even further afield.
To reach the airport by car from Redditch, drivers are advised to travel via the nearby M42 from the A441, which goes northbound.
