Advice for Renting a Car at Rhodes Airport
In Rhodes, cars drive on the right-hand side. If you are not used to driving on this side of the road, it is worth taking your car for a practice drive around the car park of the car rental agent before heading onto the main road. Familiarise yourself with the layout of the car too, the steering wheel will be on the left hand side, the gearstick and handbrake will be to your right and you will be opening the door with your left hand. The minimum age to rent a car in Rhodes is 21. Once you arrive at the airport be sure to gather all necessary documents including your booking confirmation email, your driving licence, any other identification requested by your agent and your credit card.

Rhodes Diagoras International Airport is situated close to the north coast of Rhodes, around 16km to the southwest of Rhodes city, close to the town of Paradisi. Rhodes Airport offers a good range of facilities including ATMs, a bank and bureau de Change and a visitor information desk. There is a bar, café and restauranr. As well as a duty-free shop selling perfumes, tobacco and food and drink items, there is also a kiosk selling newspapers, magazines and refreshments. A medical centre is also located within the airport. Facilities for people with reduced mobility are limited but there are toilets for wheelchair users. Passengers requiring assistance should contact their airline before travelling. Flights operate from Rhodes airport to a number of destinations in Greece including Thessaloniki, Iraklio and Mykonos. The summer months are the busiest at the airport, when scheduled flights arrive from EU destinations as well as charter flights from Middle Eastern countries.
Driving to Rhodes Airport
If driving between Rhodes Diagoras airport and the city, simply take the main road along the northwest coast and follow signs either for the airport or the city, depending on your destination.
