Important things to note

There are numerous car parks in and around Fuengirola to cope with the large volume of tourists who descend upon the city during the summer months.
Visitors should take caution when driving outside of Fuengirola via the A-7. The road has a number of bends and drivers, particularly the locals, are known to travel along it at speed.
The A-7 leads to the AP-7, the major motorway going through the Costa del Sol. It’s often the focal point for local traffic.

If you’ve got the children in tow and are looking for a family-friendly attraction, pay a visit to Fuengirola Zoo. The site is conveniently located within close proximity to the centre of Fuengirola and is home to an array of species, both large and small. Each enclosure is accompanied by a detailed description about the animal, allowing visitors of all ages an educational experience.
For those who fancy admiring some of the city’s most impressive buildings, a spot of retail therapy, or just fancy watching the world go by, the Plaza de la Constitucion is the place to be. This is the Fuengirola’s main square, where you’ll find an array of shops and cafés and the magnificent church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, a building shrouded in history.
The city’s main event of note is the Feria Week, which occurs from October 6-12 every year. The week sees flamenco dancing, music and horse rides take place throughout the streets of Algeciras, while the locals will encourage you to join in the festivities. Be sure to find somewhere in the centre to celebrate if you’re in the mood to get involved.

Airport Information

Located 25km away from Fuengirola, Malaga International the city’s closest airports and is serviced by the vast majority of major European airlines, both budget and standard.
If you’re travelling to and from the airport by car, the scenic 25km journey along N-340 should take you approximately 20 minutes in decent traffic.
