Introduction

Ibiza has become somewhat renowned as a 24/7 party island deep in the Mediterranean, yet there is another side to this popular island that so few tourists choose to explore. More than half of the island is covered in unspoilt woodland where olives, figs and almonds grow in abundance amongst the pines. Ibiza city is also something of a cultural hub home to some fantastic architecture. Of course the beaches, warm weather and vibrant nightlife are the main reason so many tourists flock to the island. Home to some of Spain’s most infamous clubs and bars that are in abundance, millions of tourists flock here every year to soak up the sun and party all night. Yet away from the bars and clubs there are plenty of tranquil walking trails and quite expanses of woodland to explore. The weather is generally hot and sunny during the summer months with temperatures usually lingering in the late twenties.

Important things to note

It’s generally advisable to exercise a good level of personal security, particularly in crowded or tourist areas, as petty crime such as pickpocketing and bag-snatching are common.
Be aware that at night you’re likely to encounter large rowdy crowds of people spilling out of clubs and bars. It’s advisable to avoid walking along at night.
Parking can be difficult in busy or tourist areas of the island, particularly during the busiest hours of the day.
Take care when parking your car and observe the Parking Restrictions to reduce the risk of being clamped and having to pay a substantial fine.
