Introduction

The island is prone to wetter weather and cool winds blowing from the north, however, the summer temperatures reach well into the mid-twenties.

Important things to note
Many places are closed during the low season between November and March such as restaurants and tourist attractions. The peak season in Menorca is from Mid-July to mid-September.
Remember not to leave valuables in your car when parking at the beach.
It is the law to carry your passport with you at all times in Spain. However, many people have had their passports stolen when passing through airports, so take extra care keeping all of your personal belongings, valuables and travel documents safe and secure at all times. It’s advisable to take a few photocopies of your passport with you.

This huge fortress has been built into the rock face and looks out on to Cala de San Esteve.
