Advice for Renting a Car in Thessaloniki Airport
In Greece, cars drive on the right hand side of the road. If you are not used to driving on this side of the road it might be a good idea to take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the car before you take to the road. Remember, the gear stick and hand-brake will be on your right and you will be opening the door with your left hand. It is worth taking a practice drive around the car park before setting out on the main road. The minimum age for renting a car in Greece is 21 but some car hire companies request a special young driver fee for drivers aged under-25. Some car classes may also be restricted from younger drivers. Before you arrive at the rental car desk, check that you have your driver’s licence, credit card, booking confirmation form/contract and any other identification requested by the rental car company. An international driving licence is not required unless your licence is printed in a language that is not in the Roman alphabet.
