It’s advisable to avoid driving in and around the city centre during morning and evening rush hours as traffic tends to build up which can lead to long delays.
The city has a complex one-way system where traffic can get congested, even outside rush hours. It’s important to plan each journey to familiarise yourself with the network.
The city has great transport connections with easy access from the M6 motorway. The resorts of Morecambe and Blackpool are within a half hour drive of the city centre.
