Important things to note

Luton is very easily accessible by car both travelling from the south of the country and the north. Only based five minutes away from junctions 10 and 11 on the M1, it is also very easy to commute by car to London.
In the residential areas, some of the road layouts can be confusing as they are often narrow and operating under a one way system. Because of this, they can occasionally be difficult to navigate and routes should be planned in advance.
Due to the size of the town, parking is reasonably easy on weekdays but may become busy on weekends; it is best to avoid parking in the town centre on a Saturday or Sunday.

Wardown Park Museum has a great collection showcasing the history of the town, in which the Industrial Revolution had great effect. There is also a large and beautiful collection of hats and lace on show, along with special exhibitions that change on a regular basis.
For those looking for a taste of the countryside, the Clappers National Trust wood is very popular amongst walkers, while Dunstable Downs not only offers great walking and photo opportunities, but also hosts gliding and kite-flying for many.

If visiting in the summer, the Luton Carnival is the largest of its kind throughout Europe. With plenty to please children and adults alike, there are some really exciting rides on offer along with smaller attractions for younger children.
