Important things to note

Mansfield has a number of car parks dotted around the town, therefore finding a space shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
The M1 motorway is situated just over six miles to the west of Mansfield, connecting the town to the rest of the eastern side of the UK and further afield.
On the M1, there is a nearby service station, Tibshelf. The services have petrol stations, cafes and a shop where you can buy a few essential groceries.

Highlights & Hotspots

The Palace Theatre is the one of the town’s most-visited venues, offering a varied selection of both professional and amateur productions. Although the theatre underwent redevelopment during the 90s, many of its original features were restored, allowing the venue to maintain its charm and character unassumingly.
Parks and green spaces are aplenty in Mansfield and make for the perfect retreat away from the bustling town centre. Just south of the main train station you’ll find Titchfield Park, through which the River Maun runs. The summer months are the best time to visit, as you can partake in leisurely a game of bowls, tennis or basketball or simply wander and admire the beautifully-kept flowerbeds.
For those with the children in tow, the Willow Tree Family Farm makes for a great day out. Situated a 10-15 minutes north of the town, the attraction features a range species, from rabbits and guinea pigs to snakes and tortuous. Admission is reasonably priced, while a café serving hot and cold beverages and snacks is also located on site.

Airport Information

East Midlands Airport is located just over half an hour away from Mansfield, being 25 miles north north-east of the town centre. It has direct flights to almost 100 destinations worldwide.
The journey to the airport by car couldn’t be much more straightforward. Leave Mansfield via the A661 then join the M1 southbound for 16 miles before exiting at junction 24. You’ll find the airport 3 miles away from the motorway roundabout, along the A453.
