Important things to note

Most areas of interest in Tonbridge are accessible on foot. The town centre is fairly small, so parking spaces might be limited. It’s recommended to park outside the town centre where possible.
Tonbridge is has great transport links with excellent connections to both Brighton and Maidstone via the A26.
The larger and newer town of Tunbridge Wells is a short drive away, located 4 miles south of Tonbridge.

History buffs will love paying Tonbridge Castle a visit. This well preserved Motte and Bailey castle is one of the best of its kind. Guided and audio tours of the castle are available, for those who want to learn more about this fascinating building.
Another great place to visit with the family is Penshurst Place and Gardens home to an excellent Manor House where and array historical paintings and tapestries are on display. There are also some stunning walled gardens which are gorgeous in spring and summer. There’s also loads on offer for kids, including a fantastic adventure playground and a woodland trail.

The closest airport to Tonbridge is London Gatwick Airport, which is located approximately 30 miles west northwest of Tonbridge’s town centre and is accessible via the M25 motorway, leading onto the M23 towards Crawley.
The airport is one of the UK’s busiest, having two terminals (North and South) and serving over 35 million passengers every year. Connections by train are available which eventually lead to Tonbridge.
