The city’s roads are subject to frequent road construction and works which could lead to delays and traffic congestion. Local radio stations usually broadcast regular traffic reports.
Avoid driving in and around the city during morning and evening rush hours and on Saturdays as high volumes of traffic result in roads becoming very congested.
Be aware that many local drivers are prone to sudden manoeuvres and change lane without signalling, particularly on the I-40 and I-25 expressways.

Albuquerque International Sunport is located approximately eight miles from Albuquerque city centre and is accessible via the I-25 expressway.
The airport mainly serves cities and resorts in the US, Canada and Mexico, although it’s possible to connect to a larger airport to come here from further afield.
