Important things to note

Leicester is a two hour drive from London and is accessible via the M1 motorway. The M69 and M6 motorways also offer excellent access to and from the city of Birmingham.
Many areas of interest are accessible by foot in the city centre. The city has plenty of car parking facilities as well as a Park and Ride on Monday to Saturday from Meynells Gorse.
Roads can be congested in and around the city during rush hour periods, so it’s advisable to avoid driving in the city at these times.

For those who enjoy a little retail therapy, the city offers a wide range of excellent shops, from high street brands to designer couture. You’ll discover a range of unique boutiques and quirky independent stores in the area known as Stoneygate; a quiet area of the city, away from the crowds.

The closest airport to Leicester is East Midlands Airport, which is located approximately 20 miles north of Leicester and is accessible via the M1 motorway.
The airport is equidistant between Leicester, Derby and Nottingham. It also happens to be one of the busiest in the UK, where footfall tends to peak during the summer.
