Important things to note

Parking is surprisingly easy to find in the city, with large and reasonably priced parking based in nearby locations to almost all of the most visited sightseeing destinations throughout the city and the harbour.
Traffic is common in the city centre, especially when sporting events are taking place. At other times, rush hours should be avoided wherever possible between the hours of 7-9am and 4.30-7pm.
Locations such as Downtown are best explored by car, especially as the taxi fares can be expensive from the city centre and public transport sporadic outside of the inner city limits.

Nature lovers young and old should make the National Aquarium a first port of call in the city as it is widely considered the best aquarium in the country. There are more than 16,500 specimens of 6,000 species living within the massive tanks, with the entire building framed by a rooftop rainforest and a reconstruction of the incredible Umbrawarra Gorge of Australia, complete with a 35ft waterfall.
History and culture buffs flock to Baltimore for multiple reasons, though on everyone’s list of must-visit areas is the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum. The house has a macabre beauty to it while Poe’s final resting place can be found in the nearby Westminster Cemetery.
Artscape is the largest free arts festival in the country and takes place every July. It is a fantastic location for those looking to explore the many different types of artists in the world now, with displays, music, theatre and dance.
The food culture in Baltimore is expansive with a wide variety of choices on offer. Due to the port location of the city, seafood is incredibly fresh, making the local favourite meal steamed crab, which must be sampled by seafood lovers of all tastes.

Airport Information

Based a few miles outside of the city centre, the Baltimore-Washington International Airport is a busy airport with a large amount of traffic on a daily basis. The vast majority of international airlines service the port, along with some national flights.
It is accessible from many of the main highways going around the city, including the 195 Interstate, which ends at the airport itself.
