Hartford is 15 miles from Windsor Locks, which is roughly a 20 minute drive in good traffic along the I-91.
The city is fairly small, with most areas of interest accessible on foot. There are ample parking facilities in and around the city, mostly metered.
It’s recommended to avoid driving during morning and evening rush hours as traffic can build up and cause delays.

There’s plenty on offer in the city for outdoorsy and adventurer types too. The Farmington River has an array of water sports opportunities from kayaking to tubing and rafting. The river is known to be excellent for white-water rafting during the spring, with guided and non-guided river excursions available.

Airport Information

Bradley International Airport is situated in the town of Windsor Locks. The airport is the second largest in New England and the busiest in the state of Connecticut. However, the only flights available are to other airports in the US and Canada.
The airport is about a 20-minute drive from Hartford city centre and is accessible via the I-91 from route 401.
