Belfast has one of the best road networks in Northern Ireland, meaning the roads are of excellent quality and very easy to navigate around many areas within and outside of the city centre.
It has become much easier in recent years to access Belfast directly from the Republic of Ireland and has only one toll road.
Taxis and public transport is very common within the city, especially as many of these give personal tours. As such, traffic can stop and start sporadically; meaning drivers should always stay aware.

Saint Anne’s Cathedral is a beautiful building that can be enjoyed by architecture lovers and religious people alike. Surrounding the Cathedral is the main shopping high street, along with cafes, bars and restaurants.
Art lovers will adore Belfast Exposed, which is Northern Ireland’s only dedicated photography gallery. Most often free to enter, the gallery showcases some of the best photography work from up-and-coming artists, as well as a dark room and work space for budding photographers.
The world’s most famous ship, the Titanic, was constructed in Belfast and so the city offers many tours and museums dedicated to this. The Titanic Boat Tour in particular is a very interesting and original way to learn about the construction of the ship.
The Botanical Gardens are popular with both locals and tourists alike as it offers a haven of peace and tranquillity in the bustling city. Attractions include carnivorous plants as well as seasonal displays and local and tropical fauna.

Airport Information

There are two airports in Belfast: George Best Belfast City Airport - which is only two miles away from the city centre, and Belfast International Airport - which is somewhat further from the centre, but offers more international flights.
George Best Belfast City Airport actually offers some of the best views of the city and it is recommended that visitors make time to enjoy these views when in the airport.
