Important things to note
Mid-week, the roads entering and leaving Las Vegas can be incredibly peaceful, scenic and a pleasure to drive through; however, weekends experience extremely heavy traffic both in and out of the city, especially on a Friday and a Sunday, which can often come to a standstill.
The vast majority of major hotels offer free parking and a valet service for a small fee. It is often worth taking advantage of the valet service to avoid frustration attempting to park during the busier hours.
As the Strip experiences heavy traffic at all times, it is much easier to take the longer route along the ring road and take an exit closest to the hotel in which you are staying. This will save hours on your journey, even if travelling only a few miles.
Highlights & Hotspots
One of the best known appeals of Las Vegas is the gambling opportunities. The vast majority of hotels on The Strip offer various games 24 hours a day, including roulette, blackjack, slots and craps. There are minimum bids on all tables, ranging from $1 to $1,000.
A trip to Vegas isn’t complete without visiting the Grand Canyon based on the outskirts of the city. Unimaginably massive, several tours serve the area, with some boat rides along the river at the bottom and helicopter rides over the top. You can even stand at the edge of the Canyon and immerse yourself in the sheer scale of it.
Catching a show has never been easier as there are countless forms of entertainment on offer. From 18+ erotic events to A-list singers taking residency in a hotel, there are also musicals, magic shows, dance shows and so much more. Tickets book in advance can drastically reduce the price to those available on the door. Big name DJs play the clubs and pool parties on a regular basis, with women often being allowed into events for free, whereas men tend to pay rather inflated prices for both drinks and entry.
Shopping has become an increasingly popular pastime in the city with hundreds of stores in and around the area. Designer outlets offering the likes of Chanel and Dior are opposite a slightly lower-priced selection, while there are numerous discount stores on the outskirts of the city.
Airport Information
There are numerous options for airports for Las Vegas, with the most popular being McCarran International Airport and Henderson Executive Airport. Based only a few minutes away from the Strip, both airports are easily accessible from the city, though plenty of time should be given for checking in as security levels are high.
